I made my Ice Cream Soda quilt during a huge career change and interstate move, with 2 homeschooled kids and a toddler in tow. And don't worry, I didn't sail through it! That season was HARD and messy. But each weekend I would prepare a few blocks, and during the week I would sew them. I sewed them while the kids did their maths, after a long day packing, on the big road trips to find a new house to rent. I could have easily spent that whole time scrolling on my phone or trying to get even more done, but that little routine of keeping my hands busy and my heart quiet in the waiting times gave me a whole, beautiful quilt! And now it is one of my most treasured.

Get your fingers away from that phone, and making something beautiful and treasured that will last almost forever. Ice Cream Soda is a great quilt for getting to know your favourite fabrics, experimenting with fussy cutting, and mastering your colour combos.

My patterns come with shape and fabric requirements, clear instructions and diagrams, a colouring page for planning, and printable templates.

Paper Pieces Bundle includes all the paper pieces you'll need to make the quilt.

We are Tim and Jodi Godfrey. Husband and wife. Techy and creative. Raging extrovert and cosy homebody. We love putting our heads and skills together to make Tales of Cloth. We live in Orange, Australia with our brood of kids, dogs and chickens.

Our driving goal is beauty and goodness. Beautiful quilts, beautiful products, beautifully packaged in a way that brings joy and cares for the earth. We use unbleached, recycled paper for our shapes and packaging, and all of our cellophane wrapping is plant based and compostable. Our shapes are laser cut in Australia by our good friends Cut Once Templates.
