Cherish Quilt

Cherish quilt has been one of our most popular patterns since it first released in 2018, and you can see why. It features a large center hexagon perfect for highlighting those larger scale prints that are often chopped up in EPP. It's also a great quilt for busting out your scraps, fussy cutting, or using your favorite fabric collection.

So, we thought it would be fun to round up a few versions of Cherish quilt in the wild from across the internet. Whether you love fussy cutting, high or low contrast, a limited color palette, or a home for your most beloved scraps, you're sure to find inspiration in these beautiful quilts!

Feature a Favorite Collection or Designer

Many quilters are drawn to fabric collections for the ease and coordination of having the the fabric choices made for them. Cherish quilt can be a great opportunity to feature some of those long hoarded fabric collections! Some designers that look beautiful in Cherish quilt are Anna Maria Horner, Tula Pink, Ruby Star Society, and Heather Ross. Check out these beautiful examples!

Choosing a Feature Print(s)

Sometimes a single print or group of prints captures your fancy and a whole quilt can be build around that single print or prints. The two quilts below are very different, but they each drew inspiration from the center hexagon print(s) and built the rest of the quilt around them.

Create an Overall Design

While many quilters approach EPP, or even quilt making in general, one block at a time, sometimes, taking the time to consider an overall layout can have a huge impact. The two quilts below are very different, but the careful planning in advance truly shines. Whether you decide to create an ombre effect or intentionally repeat prints, the possibilities are endless!

Using Scraps and Stash

Don't underestimate just making this quilt for fun without a lot of planning or decision making! These two quilts both came straight from Jodi's stash! She simply chose center hexagons she liked then paired them with basics from her scraps and stash to create a rich, scrappy quilt that screams fun! The other quilt is entirely from her low volume stash and features hard to use prints mixed with gentle whites and pastels, perfect for gentle, rhythmic stitching when the season calls for it.
