US Shipping Update

UPDATE: Thursday September 25

Hurray! All the packages that we shipped on Monday have successfully made it through customs without hiccup, and are now in the hands of USPS!

UPDATE: Monday, September 22, 2025

Australia Post announced that it's ready to resume shipping to the US from today! We've shipped all items that were waiting, complete with the updated information required by US customs, and we're hoping that they'll travel across the border smoothly with no extra costs incurred by customers. 

We've connected the shop to an app that looks after all tariffs for you before packages reach the US border, and are paid for by us. This may mean that prices for US customers will increase soon. For now, we'll just wait to see how the dust settles. Thanks so much for shopping with Tales of Cloth during this time of change. We have received notice that Australia Post plans to resume shipping to the US on 25 September, 2025. As soon as we receive notification that they have resumed, we will resume shipping as well. Thank you so much for your patience as we navigate this together!

My dear customers and friends!

We just got news that Australia Post is suspending all retail shipping to the US temporarily until there is more clarity on the tariff situation. I had thought that there would just be a 10% charge on all orders, and we were ready to face these changes with grace and information and humour, but apparently the situation is much more hazy, with different rates for different categories, and those rates and extra charges are unclear. 

Tariffs were set to commence for orders under $800USD on August 29, so we're hoping that updates will come soon, and we'll keep you in the loop! 

We're still accepting orders from the US, and will email you with options and information after checkout.

US customers make up 75% of my orders, and I'm so grateful for your support of my little shop across the ocean! If you'd like to hold off on your orders for now, please check out my large collection of PDF patterns and free patterns. Thank goodness for quiet stitches and beautiful colours to keep us company in these ever changing times!
